Dust off your waffle makers friends!!!
I guess you can say I’m in a sharing kinda mood the past 24 hours. I am just so amazed by my lifestyle changes and the endless possibilities it has to offer! Made these waffles today. I added 2 tsp of brown sugar but you can omit that if you like. :).
Ingredients and prep:
1/2 cup oats
2 cups milk
(Put these two ingredients in a small bowl and allow to rest for 10 minutes).
1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Dash pink salt
(Mix these ingredients together in a separate bowl)
2 large eggs
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
(Add these ingredients to rested oat mixture and whisk well).
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well. Allow to rest 5 minutes.
Spray/ brush waffle maker with olive oil or coconut oil. Pour 1/3 cup of mixture in waffle maker and cook.
Serve with fresh fruit and a little pure maple syrup. (Not gonna lie, they taste amazing with nothing on it. A great snack for on the go).
Makes 8 large waffles. 199 calories for each large waffle (4 triangles).
